July 4th pics

I still haven't finished the day of pictures. We walked around the neighborhood after we bought something from the AC store. 

This is the lagoon behind the Senior Center. It still had some ice on it. 

This was taken beside the Inupiat Heritage Center. There's fur on the sleds. On the porch you can see what looks like branches, but its actually baleen. Its the filter part of a whales mouth. 

We stayed up so we could finish our first day in Barrow with a bang. We went to see the drums and dances. It was scheduled to start at 8pm. And if you know Toby and me, you know that we were there at 7:45. The building manager let us in early and kept us company until others arrived. While we were waiting Toby played basketball with some teens. 

Drums are set up and ready. Just waiting on a few more people. Hopefully, the two videos load properly. Georgia fell asleep and everyone got tired. A district admin person gave us a ride home.
