Monday.
This feels like a great vacation.
Today we found the library and everyone got cards. We have no phones, computers or televisions. Its nice and relaxing to be unplugged from everything. We read, play games, clean house, organize, talk and take walks. It seemed like the electronics were taking away important time from all of us because we were constantly on them. It feels good!
Today we met our neighbors! The nice woman has a classroom across the hall from me. And she and her husband have been so helpful about getting us great information.
During our walk this morning, which was completely around town. We picked up a post office box. We have a physical address which will not get mail. The mail will only go to our post office box.
We joined the Alaska 49 club. We now get to accumulate miles and have free checked luggage. Our 4th checked bag will cost $75 but can weigh up to 100 lbs. Imagine how much food you can put into that suitcase. I know I'm going to have fun!
So a complete loop around town is about 3 miles. If you aren't used to walking that far or don't have the right shoes, it makes you sore.
And eggs were on sale at the AC store for $4. We picked up an onion at the Arctic store near our house for $2.
