AC store and shopping

We mailed several boxes of food to Barrow before we left Cincinnati and Parkersburg. I put a bag of apples in my carry on which is completely normal in Alaska.

We settled into our new but temporary housing and decided to take a walk to the local grocer. The ACTP (Arctic Coast Trading Post) was closed because it was the 4th. The AC store was open.

Hummus is about double what I pay in Cincinnati.

Fresh produce is expensive.

I am so glad that I put the apples in my carry on!

Yes, its almost 11 bucks a bag.

Yikes! Meat cost how much!?!
That's because the majority of people in Barrow hunt and fish for their meat. Most people order from Anchorage or Fairbanks and fly their food in. Its cheaper that way.

We bought these back in West Virginia at Foodland for $5!

Good thing I sent up 2 cases of these!

The AC store knows how to get my money! They have Hi-Chew my favorite Japanese candy.

The girls love Pocky! And its only $1 more than what we pay at Kroger.

Oishi desu! And good price compared to Jungle Jim's.

That's a lot of Tang! But I bought a large one back in the lower 48 and shipped it. I also sent pineapple orange Tang which I highly recommend.

Sorry Capt, we don't like your price or your cereal.

I guess we will be drinking lots of water and drink mixes! It makes getting a soda a special treat.
