I needed another coat rack for our coats and bibs. I refuse to pay Barrow prices for these items and I refuse to pay and have it shipped here. I begged Toby to help me with this one. The deal was if I could find the scrap wood, he would help me. I bought the hooks while I was in Anchorage at Wal-Mart. I didn't think about how I was going to stain it. Stain is expensive up here and difficult to ship because its considered hazardous materials. We decided to coffee stain in it. All you have to do is make very strong black coffee. I used my Maxwell house on it. I didn't think that decaf would be dark enough. We rubbed it on with a paper towel. It works and looks cute on the wall. I plan on building one more rack and a bench next weekend. Then I promise I will start taking pics of the apartment.
