6th grade graduation for Abi and last day of Kindergarten!

Abigale is growing up so fast!

So adorable!

This school is only two years old. The renovations made the school more energy efficent. We will miss it!

6th grade breakfast for parents, siblings and teachers.

Georgia enjoyed some breakfast before she had to go to class.

Really? I am old enough to have a Middle School Child and High School Child! When did that happen?

Abi's 6th grade teacher for English and Social Studies. She retired this year.

Abi's pals since 3rd grade. Elise was a little sad to see Abi go.

Pots and Pans

Pots, pans, muffin tin and cookie sheet packed away. My clothes are providing the padding. We now have two full seabags and one suitcase filled. We have five more bags to fill. Two of the checked bags are going to be coolers with frozen meat and veggies.

And did I mention that I cleaned out the storage closet! I wiped down the walls, base boards and door. I vacuumed the carpet and shut the door. No one is allowed it under penalty of death! In the past I learned that once its clean, shut it up and don't go in there again!

We are getting closer and closer....

Abi's 6th grade activities

There are several traditions at Terrace Park for 6th grade graduation. Today was one last walk to school as the 6th grade class. The kids met at the Village Green and walked to TP. Friday is 6th grade Breakfast and Recognition. Then its off to the 6th grade canoe trip. We are going to miss Mariemont School District. It has been a great experience and the girls have expanded their learning. Emily's reading ability has grown leaps and bounds. Abi is excelling in math and Georgia is reading longer books.

Mariemont School District is one thing that we will miss in Alaska, but we are excited for the opportunity to learn and live in Barrow.

Packing Time and Good bye to the sectional!

My house in Barrow does not have any kitchen supplies. I have to send or bring everything with me. I am not taking all of my appliances, most are going into storage. I have sent plastic plates, bowls and cups. Today it rained, canceling all plans to sit by the pool like a good teacher during the summer. I decided to pack up the kitchen. I packed all the silverware, steak knives, cutting knives, cheese shredder, apple slicer and lots more. I put everything into a suitcase.

This pot is for ducks and geese!

I had to have my organizer tray. I am not paying lots of money for one when I get there.

Today we said good bye to the GI-NORMOUS sectional couch and chaise lounge. My pal, Lisa took it for her son's room in the basement. The boys were excited to get it into the truck. I'm waiting to hear if its going to fit down the stairs, LOL.

The boys are convinced that it will fit and took it. Hey, no returns! It's your couch now!

Blank spot where the couch used to be. I have to take my picture down and roll it up. I think that it will go into storage. The lamp is going to be taken apart and shipped to Alaska. Ikea is great for this!

Not pictured, because I accidently deleted them, is packing up the guns to be mailed. We spoke to the postmaster and we can ship our guns, unloaded to ourselves in Alaska! Too Cool! And it frees up another suitcase.

Tomorrow is Thursday and we have 8 days till we leave. I have to run to the Dollar Tree or Family Dollar for another shower curtain and rings. I forgot that my house has 2 bathrooms and I've only shipped 1 curtain. The second one can go into suitcases. I will also go through the baking pans and cookware and decide what needs to go to Alaska.

I still feel sick to my stomach with nerves. I can't believe that I am really moving to Alaska!

** I received an email from my pal Lisa. She informed me that the boys worked very hard all day and eventually got the sectional down the stairs with minimal damage to the walls. They had to remove the handrail and door, but it worked! Never underestimate the hard work of two teen boys.

Change of Plans

There has been a slight change of plans for us. We will be leaving on Friday the 13th! What a day to begin moving and transitioning to Alaska. Now I am losing two days of packing and cleaning.

I am at 10 days till I move out of my apartment. I am felling the pressure to get things accomplished on time. Unfortunately, things can't be completed because the kids are still in school for three more days. Abi is graduating from 6th grade which means lots of activities for her.

Monday - Movie Night "Ferris Bueller"
Tuesday - Kona Ice Truck during lunch
Wednesday - Mix it up picnic at lunch
Thursday - Last walk to school with pals
Friday - 6th grade Breakfast and Recognition and canoe trip (!)

Today I started super cleaning the kitchen and scrubbing the oven. Next Wednesday the stove will be finished and cooking will cease. I packed the silverware into my suitcase. I need to get a scale to weigh it because it feels heavy to me. I returned the large scale we were using when school finished. I was hoping to have a suitcase will all kitchen materials in it. I mailed my plates, bowl and cups. Plastic is lighter than ceramic. My other dishes are going into storage or I might drop them off at the free store downtown.

I'm feeling overwhelmed and need to relax...

10 days and counting...

2 weeks!!!

I am not ready to leave Cincinnati! I have a house filled full of stuff! What's a girl to do?

And to make matters worse.... another district called for an interview. Argh! Guess they missed out!

Abi's Birthday/Going Away and Georgia Does Her Own Thing

Our Kroger does an amazing job! The icing is a whipped cream icing and that delicious. I am really going to miss Pastry Chef Erin.

Balloons are from Kroger too! Its like a one stop shop for all your party needs. We were in and out in less than 15 minutes.

Abi's special balloon that she wants to keep forever.

Technically its not her birthday, but she really wanted to celebrate with her TP pals before she left for Alaska.

Georgia doing her thing.

And just in case you were curious about how tall the girls are getting... It looks like Abi is catching up to Emily. I guess all the vitamins and minerals are working for her.

Abi's pal got her this card.

And the inside!

We clipped Abi's balloon onto her hair!

Georgia's teacher, Mrs. Merten is letting the summer birthdays celebrate this week at school. Georgia wanted donuts from Dunkin, but we opted for another cupcake cake from Kroger. I brought water instead of juice boxes. I didn't want them to get too hyper.

They really do grow up fast!
